The "cored wire" part means that the wire consists of a metal sheath with a core made of a powder material. This core material could be a mixture of metals, alloys, ceramics, or other compounds, depending on the desired coating properties.
Wear-resistant and erosion-resistant powder core wires have high hardness and good wear resistance. They are suitable for large-scale production of anti-corrosion and wear-resistant coatings in severely worn areas such as water coolers, superheaters, and economizers of circulating fluidized bed boilers. The coating has high bonding strength and does not require primer. Its wear resistance increases with the size of the model.
